Road Trip - Day 19 & 20 - Athens, GA

After a morning outing of fishing in Sapphire we headed to Athens, GA, where Melissa and George live. Athens is a great little city, that I am sure is a blast on game days, we will definitely be making it back for a game someday!

Their house is so stinking cute and we were lucky to have George and Melissa to take us to great restaurants - Cinco y Diez, Tom’s, Homemade, the Varsity for an Orange Crush and some awesome drink places – The Globe, and a bunch of other places that I don’t remember the names of, but they were all amazing! It was nice to just know we were going somewhere good and not have to yelp and make the decision between places. All the bars have hand-juicers mounted to the bars, makes for a delicious drink.

Thanks again Meliss and George! We hope you guys are able to make it to Australia - my money is on you guys being a few of the first :)

Chris and Melissa with the only double barrel cannon from the Civil War...spoiler alert, it didn't work
Hip Pops Pop Shop - Melissa's popsicle business (Glynn, Newt and Melissa) - the pops are soooo tasty!

We ended the two-day stay with a perfect Chef’s dinner at Homemade. It was delicious and a great way to sample Athens best chefs...and some local color, we will leave it at that for the blog.
Not a great photo, but its a rare one with George in it!
